Surfing the web looking for upcycle design I noticed that certain objects and materials are more popular than others. I also noticed that a lot of upcycle design is made from objects found at places like a barn, ranch or farm. Stuff that’s lying around there or is part of an abandoned building. Just like this design from a barn roof.
A roof ventilator turnes into jellyfish chandelier
It’s a stunning chandelier made from a vintage barn roof ventilator and is designed by Paul Alexander, founder of Etsy store AnotherChanceShop. “The good old Turbine style roof ventilator used to be the most efficient way to move the hot air out of your home attic space! This classic was working on top of an old pole barn in Texas! I left the turbine itself as found. Not rusty, but with a pleasant weathered finish. I have added a cluster of four bulbs inside the turbine itself and then added four bare bulb sockets suspended below the turbine.”

The Ventilator measures 16” wide x 9” tall. The over-all length from the top of the ventilator to the tip of the lowest bulb is 26”.
The way the light shines through the fins of the turbine in combination with the antique bulbs, really gives it something spectacular. Maybe it’s just me but, here I go again, it’s shape reminds me of a Jellyfish. Especially at night it looks incredible.
