Suitcase Chair by Recreate – upcycleDZINE
In the old days a suitcase was quite different from the modern suitcases we use today. Especially the ones with the wooden strips and the leather corners against damaging. So that’s why it’s nice to see that Katie Thompson from Recreate in Cape Town, gives these vintage suitcases a second life.

This beautiful vintage canvas suitcase is recreated into a functional chair with internal steel and timber reinforcement, deep buttoned in linen upholstery and stained tapered timber legs. The inspiration behind Recreate was Katie’s passion and flair for transforming the ordinary to the extraordinary.
