GUITAR EAR-O: From electric guitar to headphones by Carina Ostermayer – upcycleDZINE
Today’s post is again about music and upcycle design. Already several designs have featured here on upcycleDZINE that had to do with music. And every time it was a totally different design.
A few weeks ago you could see the Headphones by LSTN. And now I want to show another headphones design I came across on Béhance. This design isn’t made from reclaimed wood, but it’s made from repurposed electric guitar pieces! This beautiful object is called ‘GUITAR EAR-O‘ and is designed by Carina Ostermayer, Munich | Germany.

Headphones that show music

Carina Ostermayer: “A lot of produced electronic guitars never get the possibility to play music or sound. Because of some little mistakes they get sorted out right after production.
GUITAR EAR-O is a new way for old instruments to live a life in a different shape, but with keeping the same function: to sound and to play music.”

The guitar’s fingerboard is transformed into the connecting strap between the two speakers, the speaker covers are constructed from the body of a guitar.
It’s a very nice idea to upcycle an object and using it’s main function, producing music, in a whole new way. A headphone set for the true guitar fan.
