This next upcycle design lighting piece is unique and so much fun. We all know what a floor lamp, chandelier and a pendant are. But what about a climbing lamp or even better, a wall climbing one? Well have a look at this stunning ‘Climbing Wall Lamp‘ by Furniture Magpies.
Hand-woven lampshade at end of maze on your wall
The Climbing Wall Lamp is inspired by the elegance of classic Windsor chairs. It’s a lighting piece and it decorates your wall at the same time. A somewhat maze/snake of pipes is made from discarded Windsor chair legs and copper elbows. The lampshade is hand-woven and comes in a range of colors. The design comes with three wall attachments. It’s such a great example of using discarded parts that get a second chance by having a different purpose.
Furniture Magpies focuses on transforming the old into new and offers an alternative to mass produced furniture. The company prides itself in incorporating outdated furniture into fresh concepts.

“Our company creates one off and limited edition pieces breathing new life into otherwise discarded items. Our work strives to retain the character and story of the furniture we use, allowing the user an insight into their items original identity. We don’t believe in good furniture going to landfill when it can be redesigned into a piece that people can love all over again.”
