I’ve said it before, but blogging for upcycleDZINE is a treat. Every time I search for another upcycle design it’s a sort of adventure, treasure hunt. You never know what you’re going to find. Always a fantastic design and always a fun, strange or unexpected material.
Having said that, here’s another treasure I’ve found. The ‘Yardstick lamp‘ by Anja Huisman, garden designer and owner of the blog ‘Tuindesign‘ [Garden design]. Anja about her design: “The design has only an indirect link with gardens (more with my work as a garden designer). For a year, I have been gathering old yardsticks at thrift shops. This ultimately resulted in this lamp. The base is also from a thrift shop.”
Just look at the design by Corner House, earlier on upcycleDZINE to see what can be done with a yardstick. It’s a fantastic object to use. An old one has so much character, color and typo. Who would have thought that an old object like that could be used to create a nice and friendly looking lamp like this.
I have a small favor to ask. Thousands are visiting upcycleDZINE for upcycle design inspiration every month. Readers in more than 100 countries around the world are now able to support financially.
