Hardback Book Lamp by Typewriter Boneyard – upcycleDZINE
In the world of upcycle design a majority of the designs is about lighting. And upcycleDZINE has shown a fair amount of upcycle lighting designs. A funny thing is that some of the designers thought about using the same item as their main component for the design. I’m talking about books, like in ‘Stacked Books Table Lamp‘, ‘Atlas Book Lamp‘ and ‘Light Reading‘. Just to name a few great upcycle lighting ideas.

Today I bumped into another original upcycle design. It’s the ‘Hardback Book Lamp‘ by Typewriter Boneyard. Shop owner is Philip Hansen from San Diego, CA, United States: “My wife and I enjoy crafting and making things together. I’ve been making things since I was a little kid – always taking my dad’s stuff apart and turning them into something else.” Well he certainly succeeded in doing that. The result is a unique and fun looking lamp. The harmony between the bulb [reproduction Edison style bulb], light switch and book is perfect.

You can place this book lamp wherever you would like a little extra light and inspiration. Like they say at Typewriter Boneyard: “Perfect to read your favorite book by.”
