The design piece I’m showing in this article is a classic. Not just for its functional design aesthetics, but more for its function and the place where it was and is used. I’m talking about the airplane service trolley. The service trolley has been a fixed asset in planes all over the world for decades. And now there’s another function for this ‘box on wheels’. bordbar takes these more than 10 year old authentic airplane trolleys and transforms them into extraordinary timeless pieces of furniture for a wide variety of uses. Pan American World Airlines, a pioneer in civil aviation, was the first airline operating worldwide and also the first commercial flight of a Boeing 747 from New York to London in 1970 was operated by Pan Am. On board of every jet you could find the handy trolleys for serving food and beverages. bordbar’s Pan Am collection combines the functional design of the trolleys with stylistic features of this legendary airline. It brings a piece of the history of civil aviation to your home!
