If you want to create upcycle design you’ll want interesting vintage or discarded objects. And I noticed that several upcycle designers find these objects in a barn, farm or an abandoned factory. Of course there are more places but these old buildings sometimes hide real treasures. Just like this upcycle design Barn Roof Ventilator Chandelier by Another Chance Shop. And now another lamp made out of a vent, a wall lamp.
Roof vent with exhilarating glow
When I stumbled upon this lamp I was really attracted by it’s playful and gorgeous display of light and shadows. This wall lamp is made out of a rustic roof vent found at an abandoned factory. The design is by Furniture and Fabwork, an Etsy store founded by Taylor Moore, based in Richmond | United States.
The lamp is a one of a kind wall lamp. I really like the way the electrical cord runs along and through the wooden parts. Those two walnut pieces function as some sort of handle or sign for holding up the vent. Seeing the lighted vent is just like a big drum on the wall with an exhilarating glow around it.

This design once again shows exactly why upcycle design is so interesting. It’s an old object that got a very interesting second life with a completely new function. I’m always amazed by the ingenuity and creativity upcycle designers have. They see possibilities in waste whereas other people just throw it away.
