Yes again, time to talk music again. I’m always glad when I can show you upcycle design that’s about music. Music is one of the things I can get moved by. Just like for instance art, design and movies. Everyday I listen to music. It doesn’t matter how you’re feeling, there’s always some artist or song that suits your mood.
Already several designs have been featured here on upcycleDZINE that were about music. And every time it was a totally different design. For instance headphones by Carina Ostermayer or LSTN. Or a boombox and a lovely coffee sound system.
Cello sounds like never before
And now it’s time for yet another sound system, a speaker box. And not just any speaker box. Of course it’s upcycle design, but it’s music upcycled into music. To be more precise, a musical instrument transformed into a loudspeaker. The design is called ‘Cello Speaker Box‘,
a functional speaker box made from a used 4/4 size cello and a high quality 3-way speaker system.

Christopher: “All of my pieces have been made by using broken/warn out products and repurposing them to serve a new function. It has always been a passion of mine to create things. Whether it be making music, building something from scratch, creating art, etc. I find it very rewarding to turn a creative idea into reality.”
This Cello Speaker Box is a real eye-catcher. It’s such a great idea to upcycle an object and use it’s main function, in this case producing music, in a whole new way. A cello with a sound like never before!
