What can one do with old clothes hangers? Of course you can make a coat rack or a lamp out of them. A beautiful example is HANGELIER 2.1 by Organelle. Not sure if they used discarded or old clothes hangers. Nevertheless the lighting design is stunning. But when I stumbled upon a completely different design, I was immediately interested.

Adjustable floor desk

This upcycle design Floor Desk you’re seeing here is designed by Felicia Chiao. She’s an Industrial designer, illustrator currently living in Houston, Texas | USA. “For an assignment at the Rhode Island School of Design, I created an adjustable floor desk out of recycled clothes hangers and Martha Stewart notebooks. The table surface is coated with a pour on polyester resin to create a smooth, flat surface.”

I really think you would never have thought a design like this could be made out of a few old clothes hangers and some notebooks. So glad I’m able to show you time and time again that there’s so much more possible when we upcycle than most people ever dreamed of.
